Sara Lamb & Associates

Sara Lamb is an individual, couple, and family counsellor from Halifax, Nova Scotia. A registered counselling therapist and an Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) supervisor, she is beloved by her many clients.

She is also my mother.

I wanted her branding to reflect personal growth, the organic and non-linear nature of healing, as well as her warmth and care for both her clients and community, so I chose a fern for her logo.

Fiddleheads, the juvenile form of ferns, are delicate, sensitive things. Easily stepped on underfoot, they must survive harsh early spring in order to mature.

But against all odds, they grow into tough, resilient ferns – strengthened by community, and able to withstand even harsh winter.

Sara's project was a 2-parter: A logo design contract with a web design implementation for her brand.

When selecting images for the site, we put warmth first. Sara has been on homegrown lists of queer identity-affirming therapists for years, shared around networks of community care. We highlighted queer people, families, and diverse, real people.
